Keith Kennedy was born and raised on a farm/ranch in northeast Colorado, near Pierce. After obtaining an associate's degree in agriculture at Northeastern Junior College, he operated the family farm until 1995, when he purchased an industrial spraying business in southeastern Wyoming. He lives near Laramie with his wife Jeanne. In 2002, he earned an Ag Business bachelor's degree from the University of Wyoming, and in 2005, a Master of Agribusiness from Kansas State University. During 2004, the spraying business was sold, and Keith began operating Agrimind, a consulting and management firm. He presently serves as the executive director of the Wyoming Ag Business Association and the Wyoming Wheat Marketing Commission, and also lobbies for the Wyoming Crop Improvement Association, Wyoming Wheat Growers Association, and Wyoming Ethanol. He also works in risk management education, R & D, and agricultural appraisal, and as an active Certified Crop Advisor, he serves on the Rocky Mountain CCA Board. He has volunteered as an EMT and firefighter for 17 years, serving as chief for 4 years, and currently volunteers as a lector and hospitality minister at the Newman Center in Laramie.
